This year, Indo Idaho proudly invites the Treasure Valley community to celebrate 81 years of Indonesian independence through an evening filled with music, dance, food, art, and community.

Whether you have Indonesian roots, are curious about world cultures, or simply enjoy experiencing something new, Indonesian Culture and Heritage Day 2026 offers an unforgettable cultural journey for the whole family.

What to Expect

Traditional Dance Performances

Experience the richness of Indonesian performing arts with vibrant dances from different regions of the archipelago, including:

Saman Dance – The world-famous synchronized dance from Aceh, performed by Indo Idaho Youth.

Yapong Dance – A lively and energetic dance from Jakarta.

Puspanjali Dance – A graceful Balinese welcome dance celebrating hospitality.

Tari Piring (Plate Dance) – An exciting traditional dance from West Sumatra featuring dancers balancing and spinning plates.

Each performance tells a unique story rooted in Indonesian history, tradition, and cultural identity.

 Interactive Angklung Performance

Discover the beautiful sounds of the Angklung, a traditional bamboo instrument recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Audience members may even have the opportunity to participate and create music together, making this a fun experience for children and adults alike.

Indonesian Food Cooking Demo/Sampling & Food Vendor

No cultural celebration is complete without food!

Enjoy authentic Indonesian flavors from local food vendor offering traditional favorites, including savory meals, snacks, desserts, and refreshing drinks.
